On Wednesday, May 3rd, 34-year-old Alexander Jennes Downing has been arrested after he verbally abused a Muslim family at a beach on The Pearl South Padre Island Resort, Texas, his racist rant has since gone viral after it was uploaded to Youtube by one of the victims.
Noria Alward a member of the family attending the family reunion at the south padre Island uploaded the racist rant to Youtube. She narrated the entire incident in the description she stated, that two women were being harassed by Alexander and they asked her father to speak to the man, her father approached Alexander and said, "please enjoy your time and have fun and let everyone else here enjoy their time." Alexander wondered off seemingly understanding and listening to Noria's father.
Soon after Alexander returned and began to yell racist and islamophobic abuse at Noria's father, he was shouting so loud that Noria's uncles and brother who were in the water came over to see the commotion. Alexander began to walk closer to the children, and one of the uncles defended the kids from the drunken harasser.
The police were called but Alexander had left the scene, the police told the father to call again. The drunkard returned and the family had to endure a 20-minute long racist tirade during their family reunion but the trump supporter.
a snippet of Alexander's racist tirade included him yelling, "You’re a f---ing Muslim, motherf---er ... You will never ever, ever, stop me, my Christianity, from rising above your Sharia law. Your Sharia law don’t mean s--t to me." Continued with the statement, "“Donald Trump will stop you. Donald Trump will stop you! Donald Trump got you motherf---ers. Watch… watch.”"
Noria states that she only caught a glimpse of Alexanders racist tirade and there was so much more that was unrecorded. The police arrived, apprehended Alexander he was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
The family spoke to the hotel staff where they and Alexander were staying at, the staff stated that they could not evict Alexander as he had been arrested. An uncle spotted Alexander at the front desk the next morning after he had been released by the police, he complained to the hotel staff of his behavior but they refused to help them, telling the uncle they would only take action or call the police if he began to harass the family again. Noria complained of the hotel's lack of sense of security, "I don't understand what it takes for this hotel to take actions. Do they need someone to get hurt?"
Noria praised the police for aiding them in their time of need but condemned the Pearl South Padre hotel for not helping them.
She stated that "Overall we enjoyed the lovely island and we will definitely go back to South Padre again, we surely will never go back to Pearl South Padre hotel, Texas again."
