On Tuesday, February 28th, Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia, received a threatening note, reading 'kill all muslim' a picture depicting a pig defecating on a mosque.
Fairfax County Police Department are investigating the incident, officials from the mosque have stated that they received the letter at approximately 5:45 am, through investigation it was discovered that the mosque was sent from the UK.
This was not the first time the mosque received a threatening message, on Friday, February 17, almost two weeks prior Dar Al-Hijrah were on the receiving end of a threatening voice message left on their answering machine: “Yeah you (expletive) better leave the country because if you come to the U.S. and start training (expletive) Muslim terrorists we’re gonna (expletive) bomb ya.”
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) National Communications director Ibrahim Hooper stated in a press release, "We urge local, state and federal law enforcement authorities to treat this and other cases of threats and violence targeting American mosque seriously and to bring the perpetrators to justice,”.
